Question:
Hi guys, Im looking for a hitch for my 2024 Audi Q3 - no foot sensor for tailgate lift. I want to carry my dirt bike on a hitch carrier, total weight of bike and carrier is about 350lb - 250lb bike + carrier. I can see you have the stealth hitch with tongue weight of 600lb and a fixed draw tight hitch with 675lb TW. Id rather not cut the bumper trim and can see the stealth hitch does not need any cutting. Would you recommend this one? My biggest concern is the 350lb weight on the tongue - is it okay? Will it affect the handling of the car too much as it acts as a lever on the rear? Appreciate your advice, Paul

Hi Paul — it sounds like you’ve done your homework!
You’re absolutely right: the higher tongue weight-rated Draw-Tite hitch part # DT68MR does require cutting a square into the fascia so the receiver can pass through. And I totally get not wanting to cut into the rear of your Audi, that’s a big reason why many Q3 owners go with the Stealth hitch part # 391AUDQ319 instead.
If your dirt bike and carrier come in around 350 lbs total, the Stealth hitch will handle that with no problem you’ll be well within its tongue weight rating, so no worries about overloading. It’s totally smart to think about how carrying 350 lbs on the hitch might affect your Audi Q3’s handling. To be honest, you’ll likely notice a difference. The biggest difference you will more than likely feel is a bit more bounce or sway over bumps. The Q3 has a capable suspension for its class, but you are basically right on your tongue weight limit for the vehicle.
As long as you load the carrier properly and avoid aggressive driving or hard cornering with the added weight, your Q3 should handle it just fine. There is always suspension upgrades available in the future if it comes to that.
Let me know what you decide!
