Will Scale of Weight Safe Ball Mount with Scale Break When Hitting Bumps
Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/11/2025 >
Question:
Good morning, I just learned about Weighsafe a little bit ago. So I apologize if the information is out there and I’ve not found it yet. But what protects the weigh safe from being damaged and exceeding the weight on the scale during towing and the dynamic load movement while driving down the road?

Hey Tim, this is a great question but the scale inside the Weigh Safe Hitch w/ Built-In Scale for 2" Hitch # WS78RR that you referenced was designed to be able to withstand the additional weight that would get put on it when hitting bumps so it would not get damaged. Basically once the scale maxes out the ball stops pushing on the scale and instead pushes on the ball mount platform so it would just push through the scale and break it. Do you know about how much the tongue weight of your trailer is?
