Difference between KE68JR and KE28JR

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/08/2025

Question:

Part Number: KE68JR Part Number: KE28JR Looking at these 2 part numbers. Same tire, one is a wheel and tire assembly. However, the tire thats on both of them are rated for different loads. Tire alone is rated at 2860 pounds. Tire on the assembly is rated at 2470 pounds. Almost 400 pounds difference. However, the wheel that comes with the assembly is rated at 2835. So, what are they actually rated for? Ones perfectly fine for my trailer, but ones not, yet theyre both the same thing.

Hey Mike,

I see your confusion there! They are both rated for 2,860lbs at 65 psi.

I went ahead and reached out directly to Kenda to make sure we had our information correct, turns out we did not. Both part numbers have the same weight rating for the tires, we have a mistake on our website on those specs. We will get that updated on our site, so either option is going to work for you, same tire, same weight rating.

Thank you for catching this for us, with that getting cleared up are you looking for the tire and wheel combo more?

Hey Mike, I'm glad we could clear up the confusion about the weight ratings. Did you decide to go with the tire and wheel combo, or are you still considering your options? Your experience could really help others who might face the same confusion.
