Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Kenda Loadstar ST235/75R15 radial off-road trailer tire in a load range D, mounted on this 15 inch gloss black machined aluminum trailer wheel with the six on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for trailers off-roading on mud or other uneven terrain, but it can also be used on highways and other paved roads. The wheel it's on is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable and lightweight and rust proof. And it is the AM03 series wheel, which is an open six spoke design with a gloss black finish.
What's unique is if you look at the opening of the spokes, they actually have a machine finish around the edge of the spokes, and they do do a clear coat finish on the front and even on the back to help protect from scuffs and scratches. Now one of the nice features I like on this wheel is in the lug nut welds here. They use steel inserts to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. Basically when you install this onto your hub, you put this up on the studs, and then when you put the lug nuts in there and go to tighten them down, it'll help prevent those holes from wearing down, eliminates the need for constant retightening of your lug nuts. Now the dimension on the wheel, the diameter is 15 inches.
The width on just the wheel is six inches wide. It does have a bolt pattern of six on 5 1/2 inches. And the large hole here in the middle, that's the pilot hole. The diameter on that opening is 3.74 inches. And also, if you notice, it does not come with a center cap.
If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. And when you purchase the center cap, you do wanna make sure to get one that'll have the same diameter of this pilot hole, which is 3.74 inches. This does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20. And the weight capacity on just the wheel by itself is 2,960 pounds. The tire used is a Kenda Loadstar special trailer radial tire.
The radial tire is constructed with double steel belts, has full nylon plies for nice long life, and if you look at the tread design, has the deep rugged tread blocks that'll give you the excellent grip in any off-road conditions. We mentioned it's an ST tire, which stands for Special Trailer tire, has the sturdy sidewall so it can handle heavy loads, and it is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. Now the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right here, it'll say ST for special trailer 235/75R15. The R means it's a radial tire. Section width on this, 9.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 29 inches. And this is a load range D, which means it's an eight ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 2,860 pounds at 65 PSI. And they do put a speed rating on the tires now, and they're stamped on the sidewall with a letter designation. And where you'll find it, right after the tire size we just went over, you'll see two numbers for the load index and then the letter Q. Speed rating Q means this has a 99 mile per hour speed rating. And this tire and wheel assembly does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specifications. But that should do it for the review on the Kenda Loadstar ST235/75R15 radial off-road trailer tire in a load range D on the 15 inch gloss black machined aluminum trailer wheel.
GREAT LOOKING WHEELS!
Love that this tire was available in a combo and shipped for free. I watched the product video about three different times before buying. The exact specs were very helpful.
These wheels and tires are perfect on my lifted winnebago micro minnie 1700bh!
Great product arrived exactly as described and very fast shipping. Thanks
Tire and wheel combo was individually boxed protecting them during shipping.
Tires look and feel sturdy.Wheels look good and match our trailer nicely
They look awesome on our overland camping trailer.
Trailering performance that I never thought possible! A great upgrade to factory original. On road and off road!
This set up has worked well on my teardrop trailer. They look great and gave me more ground clearance.
We had a great experience with our order. The initial item was not available for immediate shipping and was delayed for a few weeks(which would have been too late for our trip). George J reached put right away and suggested an alternative. When I called I spoke to Dietrich G who made a cancellation and reorder so easy. Thank you for all of your help. Our item arrived quick. We are super happy.
Tires replace OEM tires on 2022 TAB 320 Boondock. So far I have only 25 miles on them but sure they will work out just fine. I was after a tire with similar specs as the original but hopefully better quality. Not a lot of options in a trailer tire of this size.
etrailer was outstanding to work with and had my tires delivered in two days. I will continue to do business with them!
etrailer has amazing customer service. Love these new rims/tires. Big upgrade from the Original setup on my Travel trailer. Would absolutely suggest anyone buy these if you are in the market. Note: These are larger than most stock trailer tires, be sure that you have the clearance. I flipped my axle and got an extra 5 inches of clearance before putting these on.
After having issues with the factory 205/75-14 tires on our trailer, found this combo reasonably priced on etrailer.com. Wasn't sure if I liked the wheel style but that was somewhat secondary, price point and tire features, such as speed rating, load capacity, tread style, size and pressure needed to be 65psi for my monitor system.
These fit the bill, our previous tires speed rating was 75mph, which while we don't typically travel at that speed, is too close for comfort.
The 99mph rating gives that comfort.
These tires have an aggressive deep off-road tread and fit well on our toy hauler, I got one as a spare because of the price and the aluminum wheel is lighter than the steel option.
Only have a few trips on these so far, they are working great, and to top it off, the wheels look pretty good on our trailer.
As always, everyone at etrailer.com are helpful, informative and courteous.
