Are Longer U-Bolts Required for Thicker Leaf Springs

Question:

I currently have an Arctic Wolf fifth wheel with leaf springs with 4 leaves. If I upgrade to the 6 leaf springs will I need longer u bolts? The ones in it now I believe are 7

Hey Sean! The best way to tell is by measuring on your current setup. The leaf thickness on the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e94SR is 3/8" (this is standard). Check your U-bolts and see how much thread is exposed on them. As long as you have an additional 3/4" on there you can use what you have now. Hey Sean, did you have a chance to measure the thread on your U-bolts to see if you have the extra 3/4 inch needed for the 6 leaf springs? I'm asking because your experience could help others looking to make similar upgrades.
