Availability Of 10" Hub Centric Wheels

Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 05/02/2025

Question:

Trying to replace hub centric tire and wheel on 1970s Trailex 2 axle car trailer. Tires are 20.5 x8 x 10 load range E. Rims are 10 inch 4 bolt x 4 inch pattern with 2.5 inch pilot. Do not know the offset but I am assuming zero. Your thoughts?

Hello John, thanks for reaching out. We do offer some 10" 4 on 4 wheels with a 2.5" pilot hole such as part # AM20041. All of these are lug centric so this would not be a suitable replacement if your trailer is set up for hub centric wheels.

The hub centric wheels are not as common these days so it might prove difficult to find a compatible wheel. I am not aware of a maker of 10" hub centric wheels, but there might be one out there. Otherwise we would look at possibly replacing the hubs with something more standard. This can be tricky on these older trailers though since a lot of parts used back then are now obsolete.

Hey John, did you have any luck finding a hub centric wheel for your trailer, or did you consider replacing the hubs with a more standard option? I'm curious because it could help others with similar vintage trailers.
