Are Most AC Unit Replacements Universal?

Question:

Most of these AC’s are universal correct? As far as wiring and cut out size? They are mostly plug and play correct?

No, not at all Mike. Especially not the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC w/ Heat Pump item # GE57FR, you were looking at. This unit has the new R32 refrigerant and is not backwards compatible with any AC systems from 2024 or earlier.

What model AC unit do you have?

48253C969. I believe this is a 13,5 btu with heat. I would like to upgrade to a 15 with heat if possible.

To replace and upgrade your Coleman Mach AC unit 48253C969 you can use the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup - Black item # FR32PV or item # FR42PV for white. These are 15,000 btu units that come with a 9-pin adapter to connect to your Coleman system's controller. The only way to add heat to them though is to use the Furrion Heat Strip Add-On for Furrion Air Conditioner - Manual item # FR35SR. Our only option to replace/upgrade your Coleman Mach AC unit 48253C969 with heat is replace the entire system using one of the following set ups: Ducted - GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/ Heat Pump item # GE85ZR in white or item # GE75ZR in black Ductless - GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/ Heat item # GE94RR in white or item # GE34RR in black

@JerredH So just to update you. This AC unit did not have the same plug as my camper as you recommended. I had to order a $130 adapter harness.

@MikeH That's disappointing. Was the 9-pin adapter that came with the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup item # FR32PV not the right size? Which adapter did you have to purchase?
