Where Is the Grease Seal Measured for a Replacement

Question:
Hello, I am trying to find an easy grease bearing/seal kit with hub for a Venture Watr bug jet ski trailer. 4 on 4 bolt pattern. I cannot find a kit that comes with the right size seal size for my axle. The axle is 1-1/16 straight 1.06 and where the seal rides is 1-15/64 1.234. All the kits come with a seal that is 1.5 inner diameter. This sounds like water will just pour in-between the seal and axle if I go with the 1.5 inner diameter seal. Am I thinking correctly on this or is the inner diameter of a seal measured to the metal on the seal and not the rubber that contacts the axle? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hey George, the grease seal is actually measured to the metal not the rubber like what's shown in the picture. So I'd recommend re-measuring and letting me know what those measure.
If there is anything else I can do to help you, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!

Bryce, The normal way to measure a seal is from the most inner part and the most outer part. Unfortunately I needed this kit asap so I had to order elsewhere because I didn’t get this reply quick enough. I really wanted to order through you guys but maybe next time.
