Will the Dexter Disc Brake Kit 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor K71-694-695-11 Work w/ 17-1/2" Wheels?

Question:

I have a 2023 Grand Design Solitude S 2930RL, 7000 axles, 17-1/2” stock wheels H rated tires. I want to upgrade factory drum brakes with Dexter oil bath disc brake kits. See demo video installing on Solitude but product description states 16, 16-12, and 17 inch wheels. Will the Dexter kit fit my current configuration or will I be required to change wheel size? Thank you!

No, it will not. The Dexter Disc Brake Kit item # K71-694-695-11 won't work with wheels larger than 17".

Does your Grand Design have 7,000 lbs Dexter axles or are they another brand? If you have Dexter axles I do not have another oil bath disc brake kit for you that's going to work with your current wheels. You would need to go with a standard EZ-Lube set up like the Kodiak Disc Brakes item # KOD96FR.

If you have another brand of axle let me know in the comment box below and I'll see what other options we have for you.

@WilliamE Thanks for the information! Yeah the Curt 7,000 lbs axles use the same bearings as the Dexter ones. You'll need to use the Kodiak Disc Brakes - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Raw/E-Coat - 7,000 lbs - E-Z Lube item # KOD96FR, since you have 17-1/2" wheels.
