Converter for Lithium House Batteries And Lead Acid Chassis Battery on 2019 Winnebago 33C

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/20/2025

Question:

I need to replace my on board converter a PD9245 in my 2019 Winnebago 33C - in order to charge my proposed upgrade to 2 - 100 Ah lithium batteries. I am leaning towards the PD9345V. I know it is programable to charge the lithium, but at the same time it also needs to be able to charge the chassis battery which of course is SLA. Is this converter able to do that without overcharging the SLA? Will I have to change the onboard wiring in some way to accommodate this? Thank you for your reply

Hey Daryl! The Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger # PD69RR will work with the lithium house batteries. However, we don't have a way to allow it to charge the lead acid chassis and lithium house batteries at the same time. There may be some other products out there that would allow for this but it isn't something we carry. Is there a reason you need it to charge both?

Realistically your alternator should be handling the charging of the chassis batteries so you could keep them totally separate and it wouldn't be an issue. You could also keep a separate battery charger like the NOCO # NOC37FR around if you need it in a pinch because the chassis batteries drained.

Hey Daryl, what did you end up doing for charging both your lithium house batteries and the SLA chassis battery? Your update could make it easier for others trying to balance the same setup.
