Can Voyager Wisight 2.0 Camera Replace Wisight of 2018 Airstream Bambi

Updated 07/27/2025 | Published 03/19/2025

Question:

We have a 2018 Airstream Bambi with a voyager rear camera see attached pictures. Will the ASA57YR replace it, and do I need anything to seal the base of the camera where it attaches to the Airstream? Do you have a video of how I detach the old one and install the new one? Finally, does the new monitor use/come with a 12 V electric line for power in our car? Thanks.

Hey Bruce, the Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision # ASA57YR that you referenced does replace the Voyager setup you currently have installed in your 2018 Airstream Bambi. Sealing the base of the camera mount would probably be your best option but I would look to see how your current camera is sealed and use that method again.

We don't have an install video I can link but you'll want to use allen wrenches to detach the camera from the mount and then once that's out of the way you'd be able to unscrew the mount from your RV and then reverse the process to install the new camera.

Hi Jameson, I have the same camera system on my 2019 Airstream 23' trailer. If I buy the newer Voyager WiSight 2.0 system will I need to splice it to the wire where it emerges from the exterior skin of the Airtream. I plan to pull some slack, splice the new camera wire to the existing wire then tuck the splice back into the trailer then to reseal the exit hole. Does this sound like the right procedure? The existing original Voyager first generation camera has failed, looks like water got into it. Just looking for assurance before I order the $400 Voyager wisight 2.0 system.

@Charles yes your plan would be exactly what you'd want to do and will work just fine.
