Hey Brett, thanks for reaching out!
The Bauer EM RV Entry Door Lock for Motorhomes # BA93UR runs off of (and comes with) 4 AA batteries. Bauer recommends using Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries and I imagine the reason is because those are going to last longer which means the door lock won't die as often.
