Does Upper Spring Seat Still Get Drilled if Installing Firestone Coil Rite Upside Down
Updated 02/18/2025 | Published 02/14/2025 >
Question:
I’m installing the 4164 kit on my 2010 LX570 and routing the air line out the bottom. Do I still need to cut the bumper stop located at the top of the inside of the coil or r can I just leave it as is? Thanks! Blair

Hey Blair, if you were going to install the Firestone air bag kit part # F4164 upside down then cutting the hole in the top of the spring seat would not be necessary but this is not the recommended way to do this so I would lean on recommending you do it the way the instructions describe. Is there a reason you want to install it upside down?

Hey Jameson My reason for installing upside down is that, if I were to install the bag right side up (and route the air line out the top), there's no hole in the bumperstop through which to route the air line due to the bolt that holds the bumperstop in place. Is the air line to be run out the top of the bag, and out through an opening in the coil spring? Thanks for replying, I appreciate the advice!
