Question:
Are there any physical differences between the 38k rated ball and the 30k rated ball? Is the height the same? Is there any reason other than cost that the 30k is recommended over the 38k?

Hello Jason,
Great question! So physically they are the same as for as size, but the CURT # C38CR is stronger than the # C60692 because it’s made from tougher steel, has extra reinforcement, and a sturdier locking system. These upgrades let it handle 38,000 lbs instead of 30,000 lbs. It’s built for heavier loads and designed to work better with stronger truck puck systems. Which is why there is quite the price difference as well. Both would be a great fit for your 2024 GMC Sierra with OEM Prep Package.
How much does the trailer weigh that you are looking to pull?

Hey Jason, did you get a chance to try out either the 30K or 38K Curt ball kit with your Sierra’s prep package? It’d be great to hear how the fit and towing performance compared. Your feedback could help others choosing between the two ratings.
