Hey Robert, thanks for getting in touch. You are definitely on the right track with the part numbers you mentioned. The # HBA16 actuator and # 20TA-BLKIT brake line kit can be used.

Instead of the # HBA16, you may want to get part # HS381-9067 instead. This comes with the same actuator, along with a full install kit. So you get a 7-way plug, junction box, breakaway with battery, and all of the necessary wire and connectors. Then use that with the # 20TA-BLKIT brake line kit.

For the hub/rotor kit, the # K2R89DD kit you mentioned does meet your specs, but this is a slip-on rotor and caliper kit, so hubs are not included. You will also need to get hubs, such as the Dexter # 008-399-90. This uses the # 25580 (1.75" inner diameter) inner bearing and # 02475 (1.25" inner diameter) outer bearing. Please check your bearings and confirm this is a match.

Or if you would rather do a hub with integrated rotor, we have the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE98AR which comes with hub/rotors, calipers, brake pads, and lug nuts. Everything you need aside from the actuator kit and brake line kit.

Lastly, you will need to have a brake controller in your tow vehicle that is compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes. Most aftermarket brake controllers like the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 will be EOH compatible. There are certain factory brake controllers that do not have an EOH mode. What brake controller do you have?

I have linked an article for you below. It goes over the process of adding EOH brakes in more detail.

Feel free to reach out and reply below if there is anything else I can do to help.

Hey Robert, how did your conversion to disc brakes go with the Hydrastar actuator and brake line kit? Did the DeeMaxx kit or the Kodiak setup end up being the better fit for your RV? Your update could make it easier for the next person planning a similar upgrade.

If anyone owned an electric drum brake system, I would highly suggest to change them out. Days have changed and people are not people anymore. You need the extra braking from hitting the idiot that slammed his breaks in front of you ,purposely.

@RobertC Thanks for sharing that, Robert — you make a great point about the importance of having strong, reliable brakes these days. Sounds like the disc setup has given you a lot more confidence on the road. Glad to hear the upgrade’s been worth it!
