What is Best RV AC Unit in 2025 to Replace Older Dometic

Question:

I currently have a dometic b59516.711j0 that i damaged and need to replace. I’m trying to figure out my best options but it isn’t very clear. I’m looking to get either a 15 or 18 BTU. Looks like you offer Furion but when i search online it is not considered “top 10 recommended”. Can you please be of any help on this?

Hey Daniel, the new Furrion Chill Cube # FR39TD is so new I doubt its in any top 10 list you'll find online but it honestly would win. It's quieter and blows colder while also has a really cool feature where you can make the remote control the thermostat sensor. We've had people who have taken recent delivery of RVs end up having one Cube and two other units from the factory and want to switch them all to the Cube because of how much better they like it. What didn't you like about the Dometic?

Actually the dometic was fine other than being damaged by a garage door. But if I’m going to replace, it’s the time to upgrade/update. Will the Furrion work with the current thermostat on the wall as that is how my furnace is controlled. If not, will the new thermostat work with my furnace? Or does it only have the remote?

@Daniel The Cube is definitely an upgrade but it requires you use all of its components so you wouldn't be able reuse the thermostat you have now. This setup does not have ability to control a furnace yet...or so we've been told. So for right now a separate manual furnace thermostat like the part # DMC54FR would be needed.

@JamesonC I have installed the new A/C and it works absolutely great but, when trying to install the DMC54FR, in place of the old thermostat things are not matching up as far as wires, no power to wires and such. I did not purchase a Furrion Thermostat because it has the remote and onboard controls built in. any insight?
