Replacement Circuit Board And Rain Sensor For MaxxFan Model 00-04501K

Updated 02/05/2025 | Published 01/28/2025

Question:

I own an RV with a MAXXFAN Model no. 00-04501K power-lift, non-reversible, vent fan that will begin to operate then beep, shut down, and close the cover while dry. Serial number is 2006-4501K-0135 I figure either the rain sensor or circuit board or both need replacing. MAXXFAN literature says I need circuit board part 10-21275KE and rain sensor part10-40807K, but I can not find these parts in your system. Can you tell me which replacement parts will work in my unit? Thanks!

Hello Randy, thanks for reaching out. I agree that replacing the circuit board and rain sensor will resolve the issue. We do have the circuit board you are looking for available as part # MA39FR. The rain sensor is part # MA34FR. A lot of times when we hear of the vents beeping and closing when they aren't supposed to it is a circuit board/rain sensor issue so replacing those parts should do it.

Hi Jesse, thanks for the quick response. It's a tough topic since MaxxAir has a ridiculous number of models, parts and options! I'd like to confirm the circuit board you suggested will work with my unit since the part number I removed from my fan is different (10B21275KEZ). It has 10-speeds, is remote control enabled and thermostat-integrated. There are no wall controls. (By the way, when it shuts down it beeps 10 times if that's some sort of code) The board you recommended (MA39FR) is recommended for a different fan model (00-4571) You probably know this but the etrailer website points out the following about the MA39FR: "Fits: Model number MA00-04751KSX, MaxxFan Plus 4-speed roof vent 10C21275KE Replacement Printed Circuit Board for MaxxAir Powered Lift RV Roof Vents - Exhaust only Replaces 10A21275KE and 10B21275KE" This seems to indicate I should use 10C21275KE? Also, I wonder if the reversible fan circuit board might work (MA10A21275K). Sorry, don't mean to make this more complicated but could you confirm the correct part again? Thanks!

@RandyK I want to be sure we get you the right parts too, Randy. I went ahead and sent this info over to my contact at Maxxair to have them confirm the correct circuit board. We do have several sources that link the 10B21275KEZ to part # MA39FR. I even have record of a few customers who ordered and successfully used it as a replacement. I am still waiting to hear back from Maxxair, and I will post in here as soon as I hear back with confirmation from them. If I don't hear anything by Monday I will resend the inquiry.

Hi Jesse, As you may know, I went ahead and ordered the parts you suggested before I heard back from you. The part number on the packaging I received matches the original so it looks right. Today, I installed the printed circuit board (PCB) but it did the same behavior: starts for a few seconds, opens the cover, beeps 10 times and shuts down. The same thing happens whether PCB is connected to the new or old rain sensor and thermistor. One confusing thing is that when it starts, the fan is running the wrong direction! The black power lead on the new PCB is labeled POS(+) so I double-checked the polarity of my power to ensure it was getting the right polarity, so now I'm really confused. The motor runs fine when directly wired to directly to 12v, and the touch pad seems unlikely as the problem. I would welcome any suggestions, but at this point I think I should return the parts and get a new fan. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Otherwise, could you let let me know what need to do to return the PCB and rain sensor. Thanks for you help. Randy Kilgore

@RandyK Dang! Sorry to hear the new circuit board and rain sensor did not fix the issue. That is odd because we have heard of this issue with these vents in the past and pretty much every time the circuit board or rain sensor was the culprit. I will have return instructions emailed to you. If you want to look at a new vent, the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07500K is what I recommend. It has a 10 speed fan, powered lift and it comes with a remote. This has been my go-to vent for a while now because they are durable, and they work. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
