Are SumoSpring Solo Custom Helper Springs A Fit For A 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2

Question:
Hi. I ordered the Sumo Springs for my 2025 Chevrolet 1500 ZR2. I installed them with the provided spacer but there is still 1 3/4inch of space after installation. Is there supposed to be that much space? I dont think these springs are intended for the ZR2. I dont have any aftermarket lift kit and the truck is 100 original. Thanks

Hi Edward,
The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS65FR is listed as not a fit for Trail Boss or ZR2 models so you would want to swap out those jounce springs for the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit # SSA28. This would sit over the factory leaf springs and only engage as weight is added to the rear suspension, which will prevent a stiff ride when you're unloaded.
The other jounce spring options for your Silverado are all waaaaaay too high in capacity and would give you a horrible ride quality without enough weight on the rear suspension. The only other options would be air springs or a lower overload spring stabilizer like the TorkLift StableLoad.

If you want to discuss your options some more let me know what you're thinking and what you're planning on hauling (weight, towing frequency, etc.) and I can give you some more specific recommendations.

Super Springs is sending me two more 1” spacers to make this work. I’ll add a spacer on each side which should bring the Sumo Springs down to an acceptable position. Supplying my own longer bolts to accommodate the extra spacers. FYI in case anyone else wants to use these on a ZR2 or Trail Boss.
