Availability of Replacement Blue Ox Weight Distribution Head

Updated 12/31/2024 | Published 12/27/2024

Question:

I have a Blue OX TZS 02 25 14 7 hole distribution shank. I just want to purchase the piece that moves up and down the bar with the ball on it. I am towing a boat that weights 6,500 LBS with a tongue weight under 1000 LBS. Thanks for your help! Chris

Hey Chris, it sounds like you are looking for a replacement Blue Ox weight distribution head for your system which we have with the part # BLU54XR which fits the SwayPro systems.

Jameson, thanks for your reply...I am looking for just a ball attachment for that setup. I have spoken to the Trailer vendor and they dont require weight distribution due to the way they position the boat on the trailer. Actually they dont even recommend it. I am looking for a bolt-in or pin-in attachment that will allow me to mount a ball. Thanks Chris

@Chris ahh I see what you mean now. For that we have the Ball Mount Adapter part # BA-1 which will attach to the weight distribution shank and give you a ball mount platform.

@JamesonC, you nailed it! Just a couple final questions. Will holes line up on that blue ox distribution shank I showed you to lock in on two points? It is probably fully loaded between trailer and boat about 8500 lbs. Do you think the quality and fit of the ba-1 will work? I don't want to short change it. Thanks Chris

@Chris Thanks! Yes the # BA-1 does match up to the mounting holes on the shank of your Blue Ox setup. Thankfully all of the WD brands decided to make their shanks to the same dimensions. This adapter has a 10,000 lb trailer capacity as well so that means your 8,500 lb trailer would be no prob!
