Replacement Leaf Springs and Bushings for Tandem Axle Trailer

Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/12/2024

Question:

I am looking for Double Leaf Springs and Bushings for my tandem wheel trailer. Leaf Springs are 2 wide, 26 center to center, 5 leafs = 1-1/4 thick plus 5 deflection = 6-1/4 total. Axle is 3 round in middle but is flared down to 2-1/2 by the U-bolts 1/2 thick. I would need 4 each. Current Nylon Bushings are 2 pieces 1-1/4 OD plus a shoulder on the ends. They fit over 2-1/4 long steel sleeves 5/8 ID 9/16 bolts used. I would need a total of 12 setsprs for the leaf springs and shackles. Let me know if you have these parts or who else may have them. I can be reached via e-mail if you have further questions. Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark; are you saying these are double eye leaf springs? All double eye are 1-3/4" wide so I would double check that measurement. I will also need to know the axle capacity to see if we have leaf springs that match. The bushings sound like the Rubber Bushing with Steel Sleeve # DX77XR. These have a 5/8" ID, 1-3/8" OD, and are 2-3/16" long which seems to be right in line with your measurements. If you're looking for 2-1/2" U-bolts that isn't something we carry. We only have 2-3/8" for your typical 3,500 lb axle or 3" for your standard 5,200-7,000 lb axles.

Hey Mark, were you able to confirm the width and axle capacity for your trailer’s leaf springs? Knowing what you found could help others trying to match their suspension parts.
