Hello Sherri.

No, the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier with etrailer Enclosure Cage for 2" Hitches - Steel - 440 lbs # RP85AR can not be folded up when it is not in use. The cage portion of the unit can be easily removed by loosening the 4 bolts on each side. The cage can be stored upside down in a garage or even a shed to be used as a storage bin when you are not using it to haul stuff behind your car. You could make the unit flat, but you would have to take it apart. I have included a review video, and also a video on how to put it together (if needed could repeat backwards to make flat, I realize that not everyone has the space to store something of this size).

Hey Sherri, how did things go with the Reese cargo carrier on your Accord? Were you able to make the cage work for your storage space when not hauling? Your experience could help others figuring out how to store theirs.

@KateF yes most definitely. Everything with Reese Cargo carrier is great. Only one thing...we needed a hitch to raise it up so it didn't drag the ground when in the parking lot, etc. Other than that it was great!!

@SherriW Oh, got it Sherri! You could go with something like the Curt Dual Hitch Extender for 2" Trailer Hitches - 8" Extension # D-192, this would get the job done but it will also cut your tongue weight in half. Most of us cannot afford to lose half of our tongue weight, if that is the case, the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop/Rise - 10K # 325-GH-303 costs quite a bit more, but you will keep your allowed tongue weight.
