Need Furrion Chill Cube To Replace Furrion Chill 8K Model FACR08HESA2-PS

Question:

Hello, I would like to replace our current travel trailer roof to air conditioner with a Furrion Chill Cube 18K. I am unsure of what unit to buy, ducted or unducted. Current install is a Furrion Chill 8K unit very noisy and way under powered Model FACR08HESA2-PS Lippert 2024006031. The air distribution box currently installed is model FACT12SA2-PS Lippert 2024031961 Hopefully this will help decipher what unit we need. The Chill Cubes we are looking at are etrailer FR69TD, FR99TD, and FR59TD Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Hello Erik, thanks for reaching out. According to my research, the Furrion Chill 8K FACR08HESA2-PS is for a ducted AC system, so you will need the ducted Chill Cube unit to replace it. That said, you will need a complete AC package that comes with the rooftop unit, distribution box and thermostat. For that I recommend the following:

- Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR99TD

This comes with everything you need to replace/upgrade your AC system. The 18K BTU will be a very solid, noticeable upgrade from the current unit. I think you will be very happy with it. It'll be quieter, more efficient and more powerful than your current setup.

Hey Erik, how did the upgrade to the Furrion Chill Cube 18K go on your travel trailer? I'm curious if the new ducted unit gave you the quieter and stronger cooling you were hoping for. Your feedback could really help others thinking about the same switch.
