Question:

I have. 2004 manufactured home. Had to replace in wall stereo. Tech put in a car stereo with a fan running inside the wall. This concerns me as it always has the lighted face on the unit and a fan running inside the wall??. Is this a fire concern and if I turn power off to it he unit I have to repro the unit. Please advise. I’m thinking of replacing the unit with an in wall unit.

Hello Katie.

I can definitely see why this would concern you. When the car stereo goes into standby the unit should cool down which should make the fan stop. Have you ever taken the time to listen to the fan to hear if it turns off? Most electronics have a built in fan to prevent the unit from over heating, if the fan is never shutting off then you might have a faulty unit, but you would need to reach out to the manufacturer of the car stereo to confirm that.

As far as swapping the car stereo to the Jensen RV Stereo w/ DVD Player - Double DIN - App Control, Bluetooth, USB - 48W - 3 Zones - 12V # JWM60A would be an excellent choice. To be able to install this unit you will need a cutout of 9" wide x 6" tall x 5-1/2" long.

I have attached a review video that gives you a good feel for the product and goes over the different functions that it has.

Hey Katie, did you end up replacing the car stereo with the Jensen RV Stereo in your manufactured home? Knowing how the new unit worked out could help others worried about similar fan or power issues. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same concern.
