Question:
I like the Dexter trailer axles that you sell and Im ready to buy. Unfortunately, I see that theyre all set up for underslung springs and mine are overslung. Is there ANY was to adapt these Dexter axles so that the leaf springs go above the axle? Some sort of special spring seat, maybe? Thanks for any ideas!

Expert Reply:
A 2,000 lb axle like the one you mentioned could easily be converted for a top mounted leaf spring. All you'd need to do is weld on a new spring seat # TRSS175 on top of the axle tube directly opposite of the existing ones. Simply flipping the axle over so the existing seats are on the top won't work, as the bow in the axle would have the camber of the wheels wrong if you did it that way.
