Difference Between Rhino-Rack Vortex And Thule Aeroblade Roof Racks For 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe

Question:

Hi, Is it as quiet as the Thule aero model? What is the difference in quality between Rhino and Thule? Can you explain to me the advantages and disadvantages of Rhino racks? Also is it possible to get the installation guide by email? I would like to see how to install it before buying it.

Both the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero and Thule WingBar roof rack systems have very nice features and would work well for your 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. Both systems are designed to work on vehicles that have the flush mounted rail system. As far as the design or advantages or disadvantages of the Rhino-Rack system versus the Thule system, it is very difficult to say it has features that are better than the Thule. They both have very similar crossbar designs and features but the Rhino-Rack has crossbars that are 7 inches longer at 54 inches versus 47 for the Thule system. As far as noise, they are both similar and much quieter than other crossbar styles.

For the Rhino-Rack Vortex system you would order part # RRVA137B-2, and part # RRSX032. To secure this rack to your vehicle and prevent theft I recommend the Rhino-Rack Locking Endcaps for Vortex Aero Crossbars, part # RRVA-LEC4. These replace the standard endcaps and lock in place so that any accessories mounted in the C-channels cannot be removed.

If you choose to order the Thule WingBar system you will need to order part # TH711200 for silver or # TH711220 for black. Along with part # TH460R, and part # THKIT4029. To secure your roof rack to your vehicle roof I recommend the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders, part # TH450400. These 4 keyed-alike lock cylinders work with Thule racks, accessories and roof-rack feet.

You will want to check your owners manual or with your dealership to find out what the roof weight capacity of your Santa Fe is.
