Will Curt 7-Way part # C42JR Fit 7-Way Connector of 2024 Ford Bronco

Question:

2024 Ford Bronco with factory pre-wire trailer towing harness. Will this C42JR work with the factory pre-wire harness? I have the hitch to install but wasnt planning on any wiring Bike rack only but with the pre-wire already there then i might want a light or something. Thanks,

Hey Wyatt, yes the Curt 7-way trailer wiring harness part # C42JR does fit to the 7-way wiring harness you have on your 2024 Ford Bronco.

After installing I was able to use a voltage meter to determine only the running light was active out of the OEM Ford Bronco wiring harness. After more research on the web it sounds like I need the Ford Trailer module to get the left/right/brake signals. That's on order now. I'm also working on using ForScan to turn on the modules. I'll let you know how that works once i get it installed.

@JamesonC A little more info. I've downloaded all the ForScan codes to 'turn on' the trailer lights and stuff. I triple checked my entries and nothing worked. I got all kinds of DTS warnings i couldn't get rid of. I reverted all the updates back to original (always take a backup before making any changes). Errors went away but still no turn signals at the trailer harness. By the way - pretty sure it's not the Curt connector since i disconnected that and tested directly at the Ford Harness. I've also wired the taillights for flat towing using the wiring cable i got from etrailer. That all works just fine both hooked to the RV and unhooked. I don't think that is interfering with the trailer wiring. Once i get it installed i'll let you know. thanks for listening. Wyatt
