What Is The Max PSI Rating For The Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel LH98VR

Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/11/2024

Question:

Hello! Is there a pressure rating for this wheel? I have seen it on E rated tires at 80psi but was considering it for a higher rated tire which would be more like 110psi cold temp fill. Obviously I cannot exceed the 3300lb weight rating but wanted to confirm it cold hold the higher pressure. Thanks!

Hello Kevin, thanks for reaching out. The Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel # LH98VR itself does not have a specific PSI rating. It can handle the PSI of any 16" Tire. The PSI rating is determined by the valve stem. The # LH98VR wheel comes with a high-pressure rubber valve stem similar to part # AM20904 which is rated for up to 80 PSI. If you need to go higher than that, you will need to swap them out for a metal valve stem like the Americana Metal Valve Stem # AM20906. These are rated for over 200 PSI so they will work with your 110 PSI tires.

Hey Kevin, did the metal valve stems work well with your 110 PSI tires on the Aluminum Liger wheel? Knowing how that setup performed could help others looking to run higher-pressure tires too.

@JesseM Sure did! Due to the weight of my set up, I am running my Sailun S637 ST235/80R16 's at 95 PSI cold, and they come up to ~110 or so during normal highway driving. Very happy with the tire upgrade, thanks for the follow up!

@Kevin Awesome thanks for the detailed follow-up, Kevin. It’s great to hear the metal valve stems are holding up well with your Sailun S637s at those pressures, especially under real-world highway conditions. That kind of firsthand feedback is super helpful for other customers running higher-pressure setups. Thanks again, and safe travels!
