How to Determine Bearings For Coleman Trailer

Updated 09/10/2024 | Published 09/02/2024

Question:

Hi I have a 2023 Coleman lantern 17b lt and looked at the axle and its not the Lippert/Dexter Ive seen in the manual. Sticker on it says Terran Axle part number ST44BR-050103-86.5-68.5-US-060102-07010114-EZ. I cant find breakdown of what these numbers mean and trying to Google parts comes up with nothing. Im looking at getting inner and outer conical bearings and bearing seals but cant seem to find any info. Says 4000lb capacity. I found Terran manual that shows maintenance procedures but no part numbers. Do you sell parts for Terran axles? Thanks for your help

Hello Daniel,

We may have the right bearings and seal for your Coleman trailer but don't have any parts specifically for a Terran axle. So in order to find the correct kit you will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper and measure your spindle where the bearings ride, like in the photo I added.

For example, if your bearings are L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) and L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) you would use the Hub Bearing Kit for Lippert, Dexter, and AL-KO Axles - 3,500 lb with #84 Spindle # BK2-100.

I've added a link below to our entire selection of bearings, which you can filter through by measurement.

Thank you for your response. I'll have to pull the hub and inspect. Trailers only about two years old so I'm sure the bearings still have the stamping on them. I was just hoping I could pull apart and have the parts on hand to replace but guess not every manufacturer puts out it's bill of materials. I contacted Terran but they haven't responded but not surprised.
