Recommended Suspension Enhancement for a 2017 Ram 1500

Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 09/01/2024

Question:

Good Morning, i have a 2017 ram 1500, and Im looking for some help on what I should do to have a beefier suspension I do not tow a lot, but I have a cap and a decked system, and just that weight from those two things makes my back-end sags and sit really low. so, I just want to see what the best option is to help with the rear end and getting it to sit up higher or at least back to what a stock height would be.

Hey Cody, I recommend adding a set of Timbrens # TDR1500DS to fix that sag. These are going to replace your factory bump stops on the frame, have a nice 6,000 lb capacity, and is not going to require any drilling for install.

These should get rid of all that rear end sag you've got going on, without ruining ride quality when not towing.

Hey Cody, how did things turn out after adding the Timbrens to your Ram’s rear suspension? Did they bring the truck back up to a more level height with the cap and decked system? Your feedback could really help others dealing with the same sag issue.
