Question:
I have a 2001 Ford Expedition with a factory 4 pin connector. There is a disconnect for the wiring harness near the spare tire, the same as an F150. The power distribution and fuse panel layout are the same as an F150 as well. I have the factory HD tow package, which includes the factory harness for a brake controller under the dash. I assume that this part will work for my vehicle even though it is not listed under Expedition parts?

Based on what you said it would appear as if the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # C55242 would work on your 2001 Ford Expedition and I wish I could recommend it for you, but I checked with Curt and the Tow Ready and they said it would not.
The only safe way I can recommend you install a 7-way on your vehicle would be to use a 7-way part # 37185. To install a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 Controller # 90885 you would still use the harness part # 3035-P but then will have to use a length of wire to connect the brake controller wiring you have along the rear frame rail to the # 37185.
