Can a vertical bike rack be used with the ecohitch on a 2023 Chevy bolt EUV?

By vertical rack I believe you're referencing a hanging bike rack like the Thule Apex XT # TH9024XT, and the answer is yes, you can absolutely use a hanging rack with the EcoHitch that fits your 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV.

The correct part number for that hitch is the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # TL84CR.

Hi Kyle! A vertical rack is different than a hanging rack. The bikes hang from the front tire and the bike is vertical in the air. I know the curt cannot handle vertical racks, and I’d like to know if the ecohitch can, and specifically if it can with my 2023 bolt EUV. Thanks.

@BrianneN Okay, gotcha, it's sort of like the Yakima HangOver # Y02484 then (at least in spirit), and the answer to your question is yes, a vertical rack can be used with the EcoHitch # TL84CR. The # TL84CR has a robust 450 lb tongue weight rating, so the rack and bikes just have to weigh less than that when on the hitch.

@BrianneN The # TL84CR will fit your '23 Bolt EUV if that's what you were asking. Regarding clearance, there'll be plenty from the rear of the car to a bike rack. For ground clearance, the receiver is going to be pretty low (that's just the nature of how the car is designed), but is removable for when you aren't towing. For when you do have a bike rack on, I'd say just go slow over things like curbs/speed bumps.
