Does In-Bed Camper Backup Camera Exist to Pair with 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 Tailgate Wiring Harness

Question:

When I take the tailgate off my 2022 GMC 3500 Denali the rear back up camera in the tailgate is not plugged and I would like a camera that mounts on the truck camper license plate frame and plugs into the tailgate wiring harness.

Hey Doug, thanks for reaching out!

While that does sound like an amazing product, it unfortunately doesn't exist on the market at this point in time. The closest thing we have to this is if you were to take the Custom Third Brake Light Camera for 8" Factory Monitor # GCH37FR and get longer wiring and find a way to mount it to your license plate frame, this would allow you to utilize your factory 8" monitor if your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 is equipped with it.

Aside from that, there isn't anything made to install on your camper license plate and plug into the port for your truck tailgate.

Hey Doug, did you end up trying the third brake light camera setup with the longer wiring on your Sierra 3500? Knowing how that worked out could really help others looking for a similar camera option for their camper.
