Recommended Inverter for Mounting a Power Station in a Truck

Updated 08/21/2024 | Published 08/20/2024

Question:

Im looking for something I can use to charge my Bluetti EB70 Portable Power Station from my car battery if needed. I typically use a solar panel, but realized I might want a back up plan if the weather isnt cooperating. Id basically want to run it from my engine compartment to the tool box on my trailer, which Id need an SAE connector. Would this product work for that application? Thanks so much, James

Not really no. The NOCO Genius Multi-Bank Smart Battery Charger item # NOC24FR isn't going to have long enough cables to reach your truck box, it's not designed for the more permanent installation you're describing, and it doesn't have the necessary port you need to charge your Bluetti power station because it's meant to charge batteries.

Instead you'll want the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter item # 34279948. This is designed for a permanent installation like what you're looking for. It will connect directly to your truck's battery using the 10' Installation Kit with 60 Amp Fuse item # 342GPDCKIT1.

The Go Power item # 34279948 has 2 GFCI AC outlets. It's rated up to 1,000 watts so it'll work great with your BLUETTI EB70. This inverter would allow you to completely move away from your solar panel set up as well.
