Question:
I would like to lower my trailer by replacing the hangers. I currently have 4.5inch hangers on both front/rear and center. Axle spacing is 33inch with the Dexter K71-652-00 Equalizer kit. I notice there is different height hangers available but dont know what option I should use while still keeping the axle in an upright position. Is it possible to use a shorter hanger or will this cause an interference fit with the equalizer? Can you please provide me the shortest hanger option that will work? Thank you, Keith

Hello Keith; you can add shorter hangers without causing problems for the # K71-652-00. When you swap out hangers the important thing is to make sure they are all raised/lowered the same amount to keep your suspension geometry the same.
For shorter hangers that will work with front/center/rear on a tandem axle trailer we have the # 115918 which are 2-3/8" tall. You will need to cut off the old ones and weld these on where the original hangers were located.

Hey Keith, how did the swap to the 2-3/8-inch hangers go with your Dexter E-Z Flex setup? It’d be great to hear if the new height gave you the drop you were after. Your update could make it easier for others looking to lower their trailers the same way.
