Recommended Air Lift Helper Springs For A 2015 Ford F-350 Pulling A 16K Gooseneck Trailer

Question:

I have a 2015 f350 dually and looking into if I should get the air lift 5000 or 7500 xl. I mainly pull a gooseneck horse trailer with the gvrw on the horse trailer being just over 16000 lbs. what would be the better set up? That’s the heaviest load I pull.

Hey John,

Pin weight is typically 15-25% of your trailer's GWVR. With a 16,000lb GVWR you'd be looking at 2,400lb - 3,200lbs of pin weight. That would mean the 5,000lb capacity Air Lift springs would be more than enough to handle the load. If your 2015 Ford F-350 DRW is 2WD then you'll need part # AL57395, and for 4WD models you would need # AL57396.

If you want to be able to monitor your psi levels and or air up on the go then I recommend picking up the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System # AL25980EZ. This system has an EZ-mount bracket for faster installation and includes a remote for monitoring and activation. You can also download their app and and connect to the compressor by Bluetooth.
