Will Older Reese 94622 Replace Rhino Box on 2022 Cherokee Arctic Wolf Suite 3770

Updated 08/23/2024 | Published 08/14/2024

Question:

I have a 2022 43.6 foot Cherokee Arctic Wolf 3770 suite.11,000 lb dry weight …It has the Rhino pin box pictured. 21,000k. I have a Reese goose box… I took picture of the sticker on it. It’s on another trailer. I’m wanting to make sure it will fit and be ok to use with the Rhino Pin Box on the 2022 Arctic Wolf trailer.

Hi Daniel; thank you for the pictures. The Reese 94622 you have there is capable of fitting a variety of bolt patterns but unfortunately, it was not designed to replace a Lippert Rhino. It was eventually replaced with the # RP85FR which does have the ability to fit the Rhino Box bolt pattern. The only option would be to sell your old Goose Box and upgrade to the new one so it fits.

Since you will be replacing it, you could use the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY33GR as an alternative. This is a torsion pin box so you will get the same advantages as the goose box without the air bag to maintain. Your 2022 Cherokee Arctic Wolf Suite 3770 has a GVWR of 14,260 lbs so this 4.5K tongue weight model is the right one for your trailer.

I contacted Lippert. Lady told me as long as the bolt pattern would fit the rhino box on my trailer it was ok to use. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you

@DanielG if that is what Lippert said then you're good to use it. When I reached out to them with your serial number they said that was the older model that didn't fit. I would say if it bolts up without the need to modify it the information you received is correct. The bolt holes wouldn't line up if it wasn't designed to fit a Rhino.

Well i thought it was going to fit. It was so close. The back holes I had bolts in them. Raised it to the higher holes and lower holes etc. The front bolt holes would not line up completely. It was very close. Front hole’s lined up filling about 1/3 of the hole. Thank you for your help and replying on this matter.

@DanielG sorry it didn't end up working out. The good news is it is compatible with a 1621 bolt pattern which is the most common so I don't think it will be too difficult to sell and replace.
