I have a trailer with Timken 2788 inner and 1799 outer bearings, 6 lug idler hub. No markings on the square tube axle. What trailer brake kit is appropriate?

Hey Matt,
I believe you have a 1779 # TMK94FR instead of a 1799. That along with the 2788 # TMK74FR would both be fits for the discontinued 22834 trailer hub, which was rated for 5,200lbs. There unfortunately isn't a compatible hub and drum assembly to fit your spindle so you'd be looking at replacing the axle along with the hubs/drums in order to add brakes.
If you want to replace the axle then you'll need to measure from the face of your current hub under the trailer over to the face of the other hub and then measure the spring seats from center to center. With this information we can look for a replacement.

Hey Matt, did you get a chance to take those hub face and spring seat measurements for your trailer axle? Once you have them, we can narrow down the right replacement axle and brake setup. Let me know what you find—I'm here if you need a hand figuring it out.
