Can't Find Replacement for Older Dexter 22834 Hub
Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 08/28/2024 >
Question:
I am in NEED of a 22834 Dexter 6 by 5 1/2 idler hub, that packs 2788 and 1779 bearings!! Evidently the hub is obsolete now, but they were on billions of trailer back in the 1960s to probably 1990s or earlier 2000s. Many many thanks for your time

Hey Randy, thanks for reaching out!
We used to carry the 22834 hub back in the day as part 22834UC1, but it has long since been discontinued. I hate to be the final nail in the coffin for your search, but you're unfortunately chasing a ghost.
In order to get your trailer up and running you're going to need to either have your spindles cut off and new (more common) ones welded on, or you're going to have to swap out your axle(s) entirely. If you can verify the weight rating of any axles on your trailer as well as the hub face and spring center dimensions I'd be more than happy to help you with your trailer!
