Upgraded Equalizer for 2014 Winnebago 2351DKS

Updated 08/16/2024 | Published 08/06/2024

Question:

I have a 2014 Winnebago 2351DKS and would like to upgrade the suspension. The wheelbase is 29 3/4inch and the equalizer is 5 3/4inch center to center. Would the Cre3000 upgrade work?

Hi Jeff; the MORryde # MR87ZR won't be a good fit since it measures 6-1/2" on center. When you upgrade the equalizer you want to use one that matches your current measurement if possible. This keeps your geometry suspension the same so you won't end up with problems instead of a nice upgrade. Also, you won't really notice a difference between brands so matching the equalizer size is the most important factor when choosing one.

Based on your measurements I recommend the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-652-00. The distance between the outer shackle bolt holes on the Dexter is 5-3/4" just like what you have now. The kit also includes 1/2" thick shackle straps, bronze bushings, and wet bolts for a complete upgrade.

I went ahead and attached a video below where Kevin installed these on my Jayco for your reference.

Robin, I looked at the Dexter equalizer but it said up to a 6000# axle. I have tandem 3500# axles, totaling 7000#. When it says 6000#, is that per axle or a total of 6000#? The total loaded weight of the RV is 7600#.

@Jeff that is per axle so at most it could handle a trailer with tandem 6,000 lb axles totaling 12,000 lbs.
