Question:
I’m looking for a trailer brake controller for my 2007 dodge ram 3500. I’m not sure if I have the 4 pin or 7 pin and what does that reference? The truck has had a brake controller spliced in and I want a Bluetooth unit.

Hello Spencer, thank for reaching out. The 4-pin or 7-pin references what kind of trailer plug is on the back of your truck. Since you say your truck already has a brake controller spliced in, I assume you already have the 7-way on the back of your truck since this is required on trailers with electric brakes.
If you do already have the 7-way, you can easily add a Bluetooth brake controller. For that I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180. This will plug directly into your 7-way and it will simply override the current hardwired controller. Then all of your brake control can be done wirelessly thru the Curt app.

Hey Spencer, how did things go with the Curt Echo Bluetooth brake controller on your Ram? Did it connect smoothly with your existing setup? Your update could make it easier for others looking to switch from a wired controller.
