Question:

I have a seal with #3077 stamped on it. It goes on a HADCO hub. It measures 2.56 od, 1.74 Id maybe slightly larger due to wear and .49 width. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you for providing the original grease seal number that you wish to replace, part # 3077. This is usually the best way to find a replacement. Unfortunately, we have no cross reference for this part number. The other route to find a replacement grease seal is to take measurements as you did - thank you. The trouble with taking measurements of a grease seal is that normal wear (and the process of removing the old seal) can often alter its dimensions. Seal dimensions are taken to the nearest thousandth of an inch; for example, we offer seals with outer diameters of 2.560, 2.561 and 2.565-inches.

You can use the link provided to see all available seals; the filters at left will let you narrow the results based on your measured inner and outer diameters.

For example, in an outer diameter size of 2.561-inches we offer part # 168255TB which has an inner diameter of 1.687-inches. This is a double-lip seal intended for 3500-lb axles on marine trailers. It is possible that a seal of this size may, after years of use, now show a larger measured inner diameter.
