Question:
I am looking at Part Number: UF35-946402 to use on my 5th wheel to haul my generator. So many reviews I have read on different bolt on hitches is the bolts have broke and items are dumped on the freeway. I like that this has the double bolt system with the bolts on the top and the u-bolts. My concern is the 100 pound tongue weight, on the back roads could the strain of bouncing cause this to fail.

It definitely could if you're going too fast and it's too bumpy. The Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver item # UF35-946402 doesn't have a listed speed limit but I recommend checking the carrier you are using to haul your generator. The RV ones are usually pretty specific about how fast you should be going on what type of road to prevent failure.
Another thing you're going to want to check is your bumper's capacity and how it mounts to your RV. This information will be found in your owner's manual. Some bumpers prohibit mounting a hitch like this.
If you find out your bumper's not compatible or just want some extra piece of mind you can install the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs item # C13702. You'll just want to verify your frame is between 18" to 51" wide.

Hey, how did things go with the Ultra-Fab hitch on your 5th wheel when hauling your generator? Did checking your bumper’s capacity or switching to the adjustable hitch give you more confidence on rough roads? Your update could make it easier for others hauling gear the same way.
