Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver for 4" x 4" Bumpers

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Ultra-Fab two inch Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver for four inch by four inch steel bumpers, has a 3,500 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this powder coated steel hitch receiver is designed to clamp around your RV's four inch square bumper, and it provides this two inch receiver opening for your hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers, or you can even use it for light towing. Now, this hitch receiver can only be mounted onto a four inch square continuous steel welded bumper, it's not designed for aluminum bumpers. This is a heavy-duty steel construction, does have a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 pounds. Now, one note on that is you do not wanna exceed the weight rating of the bumper it attaches to, and it has a maximum tongue weight of 100 pounds.

If you noticed, if I show you the bottom of it, you can see it does have the safety loops on each side for connecting your safety chains to. We mentioned the black powder coat finish on it, provides rust and corrosion resistance, and this is a nice bolt-on installation, it includes all the mounting hardware, you can see I've pretty much installed it onto the part just to show you where it all goes, and it comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how it all goes together. Now, also I wanted to show you, if you look closely, right here and right at the very bottom, there's two large bolts here, these thread into the hitch receiver, and the reason those are on there is once you put your accessory in there, you tighten those down on the bottom and on the side, and it'll help reduce movement between the hitch mount and the receiver tube. Again, the application, you can see the U-bolts here, they are designed to fit four inch by four inch continuous steel welded RV bumpers. Receiver opening right up here is two inches by two inches, and one note is this is designed for use with RV approved accessories only.

Let me show you all the sides. But that should do it for the review on the Ultra-Fab two inch Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver for four inch by four inch steel bumpers.

As advertised and shipped quickly.

by:

Product is very well made and very easy to mount. Delivery was excellent. Thanks.

by:

I am a little disappointed about this Hitch. It is a very loose fit for the receiver. Lots of movement. It should be fabricated to have a better snug fit to eliminate so much play. Other than that it fits the 4" bumper great

by:

High quality hitch to mount to the bumper of my RV to put my hitch
bike rack into.Very happy.

by:

This is exactly what I was looking for. The receiver is heavy duty and as long as the bumper holds up, I know the hitch will do the trick.

by:

Shipping and response time was EXTREMELY fast, even with UPS Ground. I literally had the air ratchet out putting this unit on my camper trailer when I got this email to rate the product. Installation was absolutely a snap. Took longer to reposition the spare tire carrier than to put this rig on. Extremely sturdy and bulit out of heavy steel. Can't wait to sit the Yeti and generator on the back and head out.

by:

Got hitch on time as promised. Instalation was simple and works great
Thanks

by:

Installed this hitch on my fifth wheel to pull my side by side to the upper peninsula in Michigan, however I would recommend that you be sure your bumper is capable of the weight being towed. I personally removed my existing bumper and welded on a much heavier steel bumper. This hitch did exactly what was expected of it, thanks so much to Kirstin for her help at checkout

This product has preformed as it should, no issues and I can be confident that it will withstand its purpose, thanks again

by:

Works great used on trailer bumber for portable refrigerator to carry on cargo unit. Had to beef up bumper with angle iron due to weight ...no bounce at all with hitch

by:

Product fit perfect. Easy to install. Very happy with the hitch, Only one problem, the anti-wobble bolt on the side would not fit because U-bolt is in the way. You can only get the bottom anti-wobble bolt in. (See 2 pictures) I solved that problem by cutting off the end of the U-bolt that was in the way. They just need to move that hole back a bit more. Now I have both bolts on and cargo carrier is solid.

by:

This bracket provided me the means to mount the receiver style spare tire b racket on my Class C RV. By mounting it upside down, it placed the weight squarely on the frame, leaving the u-bolts to merely hold it in place.

by:

The product arrived ahead of schedule. etrailer upgraded my shipping at no extra cost! It fit on my bumper with very little problem. It was tight because of my chrome covering, but I expected that. I did have to replace two of the nuts that would screw on, and I had wanted to place it above the bumper but the body of the trailer wouldn't let me. I haven't gotten a bike carrier yet, but I wholly expect it to work just fine. I would have given it an excellent but for the bolts I had to replace.

by:

This bolt on hitch worked as advertised. Important to get the bolts sufficiently tight. I used this product to hold a cargo carrier on 2020 Colorado camping trip.

by:

The product is good but the shipper tracking was useless. None was provided as promised. No email, no tracking number, nothing. Just a bunch of junk emails asking me to buy more stuff. Serious lack of communication.

by:

I needed a way to carry our mountain bikes when we go traveling with a our RV. The Ultra-Fab Hitch receiver fit perfectly on the 4x4 rear bumper allowing me to carry our bike rack. I feel I could even tow my golf cart trailer behind my RV with this hitch if needed. Very easy to install with a simple socket set and torque wrench.

by:

Very easy to install (my four year old helped me). We used it for our bike rack on the back of the trailer so it was installed on top of the bumper instead of underneath. This thing holds it very solid.

by:

Cold the cargo rack on the rear of our travel trailer.I bought it so that I can lock my generator to it when we’re traveling.

by:

This fit very well, only problem is the side anti wobble bolt won’t fit when the U bolts are installed. Note submitted picture.

Just ground off a 12 inch or so, installed bolt before the U bolt. Works fine now.

by:

Product looks and feels very solid and well made. Only took me 5 mins to install. Can't wait to see how it performs as we head out in the next few days. I will be carrying my generators and gas and kids bikes on it. Thank you again etrailer.com for an easy purchase with all of the info i could ask for on your website to help make the best selection for my needs.

by:

Just what was needed.

by:

Site said the part fit my vehicle but would not fit. Now I had to pay $30 to get a refund. Not happy

by:

Well constructed, very easy to install, negates fabricating or adapting a hitch by taking advantage of existing 4" bumper.

by:

The bolts on the top are not long enough. I had to buy longer bolts. The bolt on the side that secures the hitch to reduce the movement is too long. The u-bolt is in the way. I had to buy a shorter bolt. The bolt hole needs to be repositioned so the u-bolt will not interfere.

by:

hooked up hitch both u bolts broke dropping both bicycles on freeway in Montana. Just a fact and no total rack and bikes were well un der the maximum load rateing,

by:

Bought (2) of them to make to make a removable rack for a small inflatable boat to carry on the back of the trailer bumper. Appears plenty strong have to see how it lasts. Did notice that the chain loops interfere with the 5/8" bent hitch pin hair pin connection. I'll have to make one out of a bolt (they should have though of that).

Rather than a bolt, I recommend using a straight hitch pin, such as the etrailer Trailer Hitch Lock # e98882. This hitch pin has a locking end cap to keep your hitch accessory secure. The lock core is accessed on the end of the cap, making it easier to access in a hitch with limited space like this one.

  • RV Compatible Platform Bike Racks
The Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches # S44FR is the platform bike rack I recommend that is compatible with RV and travel trailer use. It is a very nice bike rack that holds your bikes in 3 spots. It has the similar ratcheting hooks, but uses a different style wheel cradle. This rack has a fold down mast, but the rest of the frame is rigid to give the support needed for RV use. The Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches for RV Bumpers # S64663. is a bike...

The Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver part # UF35-946402 is made by Ultra-Fab and the Buyers Products RV Universal Receiver Hitch part # 3371804060 is made by Buyers Products, they are not the same company. There are no distinguishable differences that I am able to find. They will both fit a standard 4" x 4" RV bumper, nothing larger. I wish I had more info for you to help you choose between them but this is a very standard design and several other companies use it. I would...

Either of these hitch receivers will mount to your motorhome frame so a bumper is not needed. This can be used with thetrailer Motorcycle Carrier for 2" Hitches - 500 lbs # e98873 for your scooter. • What Bike Rack do You Recommend for Transporting an E-Bike on a Truck and Travel Trailer?
I have a solution for you. Any time you use any adapter like the MaxxTow Hitch Adapter # MT70032, you reduce the overall weight capacity of the hitch by 50%. With that being said, that will reduce your trailer's hitch to only 65 pounds of available tongue weight. Since the OnRamp # Y36FR already weighs 39.5 pounds, that leaves only 25.5 pounds of available tongue weight on the rack. This is extremely dangerous. We unfortunately do not recommend going this route even if you plan on further...

In order to mount your 75 pound Class C tire, I recommend looking into a hitch-mounted carrier like the Curt Trailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier # C31006. The # MO34VR uses nuts and bolts where the # MO22FR uses self tapping screws. Since both have the same 400lb load rating I recommend going with the # MO22FR as it will be the easiest to install. This rack is rated for carrying 2 bikes up to 70lbs per bike and is rated for use behind your 22' travel trailer and pickup with a 2" receiver. The Bolt-On Frame Receiver # C13704 is going to be the best option for adding a receiver to your travel trailer. If you were able to somehow attach the bolts with the hex flange nuts in front like in the photo I've attached, then there should be enough space.
