Is Loctite Needed When Assembling Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer
Updated 02/04/2026 | Published 07/07/2024 >
Question:
I have ordered the Yakima RandR 66 trailer Y08106, which I know will have to be assembled. Do you recommend using liquid thread locker e.g. Locktite on the screw threads?

Hey James,
That's a good question, but as long as you torque everything down correctly (the install manual will call out specific torque ratings), using Loctite or another thread locker really isn't necessary. I actually don't recommend doing this because it could make any potential maintenance down the line a pretty frustrating experience.

Hey James, how did the assembly of your Yakima Rack and Roll 66 trailer go without using thread locker? Your update could make it easier for others putting theirs together too.
