Question:
94 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd. Recently installed Timbrens. Front and Rear are resting on the frame. There should be a 1 inch space between the Timbren and the frame, no spacers. Rides rough. What would be the best way to fix this? Thanks.

Hi Chet,
Timbren SES kits like the # TDR1525H4 and # TDF25004B you installed should have a 1/2" to 1-1/2" gap. If they do not then your factory suspension is going to need to be upgraded/replaced. The coil springs and shocks are likely worn too much to support the weight, causing the vehicle to sag down enough for the Timbren's to engage. I would look into getting your shocks and coil springs replaced to help create a gap between them and the bump stop plates.
Both of the Timbren kits you picked have a 6,000lb capacity so they are going to be very stiff and cause ride quality issues if they aren't under a heavy load.

Hey Chet, how did things turn out after checking your shocks and coil springs on the Ram? Did replacing them help create the right gap and smooth out the ride? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same issue.
