Question:

I have the Fastway 92-00-0450 and am trying to secure my RV. My question is how to keep someone from removing the two bolts secure the hitch head to the shank, and connecting the hitch head to their own matching shank to steal my RV? Some form of cable and lock or design a steel cover to lock over the hitch head to hide the two bolts is my idea.

Hey Glenn,

There isn't a steel cover, but you can certainly use a cable lock to help secure your Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0450; for that I recommend going with the Master Lock Quantum Self-Coiling, Combination Cable Lock # 8122D.

This is a thick 1/2" diameter cable and since it has a combination you don't have to worry about having an extra key to keep track of.

Thanks. I couldn’t find a cover without getting one custom made. So instead, I purchased a Vulcan security chain and may get the two nuts welded to the bolts per a recommendation.
