Can I Use a Ball Mount w/ the Roadmaster Hitch Spare Tire Mount to Offset the Drop?

Updated 02/17/2026 | Published 06/20/2024

Question:

The spare tire carrier results in a two-inch . When towing my Jon boat, to have it level, I currently use a straight trailer hitch ball mount. Can I simply get a 2-inch rise trailer ball hitch mount to offset the of the spare tire carrier? Im not talking about adding another high-low hitch adapter which I see cannot be done, but simply a trailer hitch ball mount with a 2-inch rise. See included photo. Thanks, Will

Hey Will! You can definitely add a ball mount like item # C93KR to compensate for the 2" drop you get when you use the Roadmaster Hitch Spare Tire Mount item # RM-195225. This will get you back to level with your vehicle's 2" receiver.

Hey Will, how did things work out after adding the ball mount with the 2-inch rise to offset the drop from your spare tire carrier? Your update could make it easier for others towing smaller boats to keep their trailers level.
