Upgraded Shackle Kit for Jayco Eagle 325BHQS with MORryde Equalizers

Updated 06/18/2024 | Published 06/15/2024

Question:

We have a jayco eagle 325BHQS 5th wheel camper that has the leaf spring tandem axles and previous owner installed a MORryde Rubber Equalizer but never upgraded the shackle bolts ect... Well those straps are worn out and stuff needs replacing. We arent traveling all over the states but take some trips 4 plus hours away. Wondering if we just replace the whole thing to something better or just upgrade the worn out components with better ones like greaseable shackle pins. But what we have now is worn out and needs replacing and looking for your recommendations

Hey Ryan, if the cushioned equalizers are still in good shape then I would keep running them. To go to an upgraded shackle kit what you'd want is the part # MR46ZR which comes with new wet bolts, shackles, and bushings. This kit has shackles that are 2-1/4 inch long whereas we also have the part # MR76ZR which has shackles that are 3-1/8 inch. You'd want to measure what you have now to match what you'd need.

Are there better equalizers out there than the MORryde ones to give a smoother ride for the RV? I think the ones we have now are the MR87ZR. Not sure how much better are the LC1565391 but then you have to worry about any leaks that might happen also. I seen the TSR14KT01 looks interesting wonder if it's that much better of a ride upgrade. Already upgraded to the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel Pin Box which makes a world of difference already.

@Ryan MORryde's AllTrek 4000 kit part # MR89DR is a really solid option and what I would recommend as the best cushioned equalizer. It's currently only option that cushions vertically and horizontally. I'd recommend this over everything else on the market. This is same size as the MR87ZR you have now so if that's what you have it would be a direct replacement.
