Looking For Oil Bath Disc Brake Kit For A Dexter 3,500 lb Axle
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I have a 2004 Dexter trailer that was made for a marine application. It has oil bath hubs and all four are leaking. Dexter states that the components for this trailer are obsolete and they no longer support replacement parts for the hubs. I’ve put together the following: • Vin 5K6SB202141051634 • Twin 3500 axles as identified by Dexter. I would assume they are 2500 just based on the vin • Trailing axle has disk brakes • 5 X 4.5” bolt pattern • 2” X 2” axles • 3.5” • HF is 89.5 with a spring center underslung @ 70.5 • Dexter identifies the following bearings are used: o Inner cone L68149, cup L68110 Outer cone L44649, cup L44610 I would prefer to re-fit the trailer with oil bath hubs, If I can find an aftermarket product. I know the easiest thing to do would be to convert them to grease

Hello Gary, thanks for reaching out and for providing all that information. We do offer an oil bath disc brake kit that will fit your trailer. The # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearing combination is quite common, so parts are going to be readily available. Our disc brake kits do come with new calipers and pads so I do recommend you install those new as well. Here is what I recommend:
- Kodiak Disc Brakes - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet/KodaGuard - 3,500 lbs - Oil # KOD49FR
