Expert Reply:

Both the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76182 and EcoHitch X7216 which we no longer carry have a similar design. The biggest difference most people consider is the price and that is a main reason we no longer carry the EcoHitch as it costs much more. The main reason for the higher cost is the EcoHitch is made from recycled aluminum, steel, and stainless steel here is the USA.

I recommend installing the 4-Way # 118467 when you install the receiver. This will allow you to connect to most small trailers you might tow or use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 behind a hitch mounted accessory.

Hey, how did the Draw-Tite hitch work out on your Forester? Did you end up adding the 4-way wiring harness for your trailer lights? Your update could make it easier for others comparing these hitch options.
